Privacy Policy
This policy describes how CottageLedger Media Inc. collects, uses, and stores information from visitors to cottageledger.org.

Information we collect
Server logs
Our web hosting provider records standard server access logs that include the requesting IP address, browser user-agent string, referring URL, and the date and time of each page request. These logs are retained for up to 90 days for security and diagnostic purposes and are not used to identify individual visitors by name.
Contact form submissions
When a visitor submits the contact form on our home page, we collect the name, phone number, and email address entered. This information is used only to respond to the enquiry submitted and is not added to any mailing list or shared with third parties. Contact submissions are retained for up to 12 months, after which they are deleted.
Cookies
CottageLedger.org sets a single first-party cookie named cl_cookie_consent to record whether a visitor has accepted or rejected the cookie consent prompt on the home page. This cookie contains no personal data and expires after one year. We do not use third-party analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or tracking pixels.
Visitors who reject the cookie consent prompt will have the rejection recorded in the consent cookie, and the banner will not appear again on subsequent visits. No data other than the consent status is stored.
How we use information
Information collected through server logs and contact form submissions is used exclusively for the operational purposes described above: maintaining site security, diagnosing technical issues, and responding to visitor enquiries. We do not sell, rent, or share visitor information with third parties for any commercial purpose.
Third-party content
This site displays images hosted by the Wikimedia Foundation at upload.wikimedia.org. When your browser loads these images, your IP address is transmitted to Wikimedia Foundation servers. The Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy applies to that data transfer; it is available at foundation.wikimedia.org/wiki/Privacy_policy.
This site uses Google Fonts loaded from fonts.googleapis.com. When your browser requests font files, your IP address is transmitted to Google's servers. Google's privacy policy applies to that data transfer.
Your rights under PIPEDA
Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) gives you the right to access personal information we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate information, and withdraw consent for the collection or use of your personal information, subject to legal or contractual limitations. Requests under PIPEDA should be directed to info@cottageledger.org. We will respond within 30 days.
Data security
Contact form submissions are transmitted over HTTPS and stored on servers located in Canada. We do not store payment information. Server log data is accessible only to authorized hosting provider staff and to CottageLedger Media Inc. staff with a legitimate operational need.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy when the practices it describes change. The date at the top of this page indicates when the current version was last revised. Continued use of the site after a revision constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
